Problems with Forgiveness
The problem with forgiveness is this misconception that the purpose of it is to “let someone off the hook” or attaching “conditions” or “requirements” for the wrongdoer to achieve to gain trust with you. That is a problem. You see, forgiveness has NOTHING to do with the person who wronged you in some way. It has EVERYTHING to do with you. It has to do with you not allowing that hurt to weigh on your heart and control your emotions anymore. It has to do with YOU choosing to not be a prisoner to those negative feelings anymore. It has to do with realizing that people are not perfect and nobody is capable of meeting your expectations 100% of the time. Forgiveness is meant to be given without condition. Without judgement. Without reservation. Think about it.
What if I fall and hurt myself?
Would you know how to fix me
What if I went and lost myself?
Would you know where to find me
If I forgot who I am,
Would you please remind me oh?
Cause without you things go hazy

Heart’s Desire
And in that moment, she realized her heart’s desire
Her heart’s deepest longing
A need as powerful and significant as each pounding beat
Yet, she stood still
Frozen
Fearful that her longings may just be an illusion
Fearful of the abyss beyond the present
In that moment of fight or flight
That battle between heart and mind
She waits
Waiting for her mind to shout
FEAR NO MORE
Yet she continues to stand silent
Mourning her desire
Alone
Deafened by fear.
You will be there. Always. And forever. No matter where our paths take us.

Everyday
I allow you deeper into my heart
Everyday
I trust you more
Everyday
I lead you closer to ways to hurt me
Everyday, despite that fear,
I have faith you never will
